Biography

Diana Kim is a contemporary artist with an academic background in classical painting. She was born and raised in Russia, where she studied painting, drawing and composition at the Kazan Academy of Arts. After graduating, she worked at the largest art studio in the CIS - Art Lab, where she expanded her technical range and gained extensive experience in interior painting and commissioned works.

In 2022, she relocated to Austria, where she began studying Art History in University of Vienna while continuing her career as a painter. Since then, her artistic focus has increasingly shifted toward portrait painting and the study of Old Masters’ techniques, combining academic precision with a contemporary visual sensibility.

Statement

My work focuses on figurative painting, with a particular interest in portraiture as a space for emotional stillness and psychological depth. I combine traditional oil painting techniques, inspired by the Old Masters, with a contemporary approach to color and atmosphere.
